Last Minute Halloween Projects
It's getting pretty close to Halloween so I thought I'd wrap up this years Halloween series with a few quick projects.
For starters here are two tiny black cat patterns. The pictures on the right show how they look made up. These make really small, quick earrings. Darn cute too. :-)They should be worked sideways in brick stitch.

This skeleton is a little more complicated, but still quick and fun.

The body is mostly brick stitch with a few tricky bits. The head and shoulders are normal brick.

For the backbone and ribs, brick stitch one bead to the bottom center of the shoulder piece. Pick up two more beads and go back down through the first of them. Pick up another bead and go down through the first bead once more. Pick up three beads and go down through the second of them. Pick up another and go down through the center bead again.

To begin the pelvis, pick up four beads and go up through the second of them. Now pass your thread down through the left hand bead at the bottom. Pick up a bead and go down through the bead your thread is coming out of. Now go up through the bead to the right and pick up another bead. Go back up through the bead your thread is coming out of. Now you are in position to brick one bead on top between the third and fourth beads of the 4 you just added. Weave back to the other end of the four and brick one between the first and second. We do it this way instead of as a row of three because it hangs differently and looks more like hip joints.

To add legs, go down through the end pelvis bead and pick up 12 beads. Skip two and go back up through the rest. Weave your way to the other end of the pelvis and repeat. To add arms, weave back up to the shoulders and down through the end shoulder bead. Pick up 6 beads. skip 1 and go back up through the rest. Weave to the other end of the shoulder row and repeat.
Have fun!
