Glass and Stick Pearl Clasp on a Section of emBead™ Silk Covered Beading Cord - Completed

Here's what you'll need to make this unusual vintage glass loop and stick pearl toggle clasp:
  • 1 - 7" length of emBead™ Brand Silk Covered Beading Cord or the length required for a comfortable fit.
  • 1 - 20mm Stick Pearl from Fire Mountain Gems and Beads.
  • 1 - Vintage Rectangular Glass Ring, such as these magnificent Leaf Border Glass Rings from one of my favorite vintage bead sellers, Splendor in the Glass.
  • 1 - 36" piece Berkley Brand Crystal Fireline™ Four Pound Test line, which will be called "beading thread" for the purposes of this article, since we're beading, not fishing!
  • 1 - very small CZ bead such as this 2.5mm Cubic Zirconia Bead from the fine folks at Soft Flex. This project uses a lovely and subtle shade of green CZ to match the silk in the emBead™ cord, but you may use the color of your choice.
  • 21 - Size 15/0 Seed Beads, Clear with AB Finish.
  • Beading Needle.
  • Scissors.
  • Gem-Tac Brand Glue.
This is a simple and really eye-catching clasp; the perfect closure to balance the elegant sheen of the emBead™ cord silk covering.

The toggle clasp is made using a vintage glass loop and a small stick pearl with a tiny green CZ as an accent. The pearl slips through the opening of the vintage rectangular glass loop as if it had been made just for that purpose, and the toggle holds the bracelet in place and will not slip out. The rectangular glass loop, even though it is on the border between antique and vintage, leaning towards antique, is tough enough to handle this job.
