Just close the ingenious magnifier door when it is not in use and cut down on potentially dangerous interactions between sunlight and the magnifier. This also helps keep the magnifier clean and dust-free, so that you won't have to stop and clean it each time you need to use it. Pretty handy!
And if the excellent color definition of an Ott-Lite were not enough, I have come to really appreciate the soothing, low-glare lighting from Ott-Lite lamps. Eyestrain is a big problem with beaders - we strive to see such tiny, intricate details that we can unwittingly give ourselves eye strain if we do not work with proper lighting. Less eye strain also equals less shoulder, neck, upper back and arm strain, as well. When we are straining to see, the rest of our body tenses up, too.
